At 18 months old Leah is 30.75 inches tall and almost 21 pounds. This is probably my favorite stage of hers so far. She is talking so much and her personality just grows everyday. You never know what wacky thing she will do next.
Exhibit A:
This photo was taken March 9th. She may have learned this from visiting with Caitlin last summer. She did the same thing with a drink lid. Cutest squished nose ever!
Also March 9th: Grape flavoring temporarily covers up all Leahs' teeth. It seems she has almost all of them and now her eye teeth are coming in slowly, but surely.
March 9th too: Coolest seat in the house. It's always a challenge to grab whatever you need from the fridge and get it closed before Leah settles in. Another fun fridge fact, Little Miss Sticky Fingers loves to grab the yellow mustard bottle and take off with it. I'm not sure why it's always the mustard, but I think Ketchup feels left out.
March 26: We bought Leah a little chair which she loves to sit and read in. It makes me nervous, though, when she drags it about, stands on it, and tries to unlock the back door dead bolt. Anyway, Here's a video of Leah reading her Little Mermaid book. She is saying, "pretty". Usually she says "pretty" about jewelry, but now it's used for princesses as well.
This video explains the next photo. I have an idea of where she learned this habit of stashing things down her shirt (cough-Candace!), but I find some interesting stuff in there when I go to change her.
April 17: I swear she does this all on her own. I will often find her lounging on the arm of the sofa. Never mind the computer sitting precariously underneath her, it doesn't seem to bother her. I love the look on her face. Sesame Street is educational, right?
April 22: I love this. If you ask Leah what a cat says she gives this sickly, depressing imitation. Not to mention, it's Mow instead of Meow. Soo funny!
That same day I got a picture of her crossing her fingers. I catch her doing it all the time and not just those fingers. She can cross her pinky and ring finger as well. I can't do that, can you?That's kinda freaky if you ask me. Freaky, but cute.
She's on a roll...Leah also started doing this little kissy sound.
Mom definitely needs something.

April 23: This is a longer video because Leah is just fun to watch. Before we could get her swing (which she calls "Wheee") hung up outside she found it quite comfy as a snacking chair.
April 30: Oh my goodness! First of all, the bucket was all her idea. She calls it a "hat". I don't know why she has to be crouching to dance, but all her moves just crack me up!
May 2: Leah mastered somersaults. Tah Dah!
I love how Leah learns everyday. Her vocabulary is expanding and best of all she calls me "Mommy". I know as new parents we often act like she's the first baby to ever be born. I'm sure all Leahs' new developments and skills are quite normal, but I find her fascinating. I am so blessed to have a front seat for every quirky show of hers.
This next part of my post I am titling, "Daddy's Girl".
Leah loves her dad. She gets jealous when he's outside and she can't be out there with him.

Leah is such a bright, spunky, sweet girl. That smile says it all. Pure joy.

She is seriously a doll. I love this stage...18 months. It's one of my favorite ages. They are learning so much and do the cutest things.
Thanks for sharing those videos. The one of her shoving her pacifier down her shirt was priceless!
She is such a doll. And no, it's not because she's your first that you love all of these things. McKenna is our 4th and we love to sit and watch all her craziness. She just has a bigger audience, having 3 older sisters that love to watch also.
Sarah is right. She is so fun to watch. When I leave in the morning, she says, "Bye Bye Dad" and that makes me smile. Sometimes she cries and screams and reaches for me. This makes me sad and happy at once. Parenting stirs odd emotions.
Parenting does stir odd emotions and you've only just begun.
I am so seriously grateful for the technology that we have today so Grandma can sit at home in California and see what my Leah is up to. I'm also grateful you use the technology frequently so I can have a front row seat too.
Each picture, each video became my favorite until the next one. Oh my gosh what a funny, happy, creative little girl she is. I loved the bucket dance most of all though. Amazing!!
The crossing finger thing! Porter does that too, and I thought he was a bit of a freak-but I guess we both have freaky, albeit adorable children! :)
I can't believe how big Leah is getting. I loved that age with Lexi too, they do the cutest things(: I love her cat "mow".
Oh my...she is so adorable...love the dancing! Arden has that same Little Mermaid book, too. Oh, I hope they meet someday!
So lucky to live next door to this wonderful little angel we sure do love her she brings a smile to my face every time I see her! Thanks for sharing your little girl with us!
